The State DEC has proposed for 2008
fluke fishing these regulations. It's 20.5" minimum length, four keeper limit and the season runs from May 15 to September 1.
This still has to be approved to be official.

Construction is still ongoing at the Third Wantagh Bridge, the best fishing spot, for my money, at Jones Beach. The construction company is having a tough time building the bridge because of the strong current in Sloop Channel.
